adumbjerk asked: Round two of bothersome question-asking: Do you have any general tips for podcasting? Not even in the sound and recording, just anything useful you've procured over the past year. Trying to make mine not be miserable.
1) Give the guest a set time and day. No “when are you frees”. They can say yes or no! If they say no, have other times ready. 1-3 p.m Tuesday? 3-5 p.m Tuesday? 11-1 a.m Wednesday? A non fixed recording rarely happens.
2) Take detailed notes.
3) Listen. Don’t wait for your turn to talk or come with an agenda. A loose outline is good for lulls and show structure but don’t try and hit a bunch of notes.
4) Be like water. Don’t impose yourself on the situation. Be a part of it. Flow through it and with it.
